How days between dates are counted
The calculator subtracts the start date from the end date. By default the last day is not included: 1 to 10 March gives 9 days. This is how periods in days are counted under the Russian Civil Code: a period starts running on the day after the event. If you need the length of a holiday or business trip, where both the first and last day matter, turn on the “Include end date” switch.
Working days in 2026
Working days are counted using the production calendar for a five-day week. In 2026 there are 247 of them. Public holidays and day transfers are set by the Labour Code and Government Resolution No. 1466 of 24.09.2025:
- New Year holidays — 1 to 11 January. The weekend days of 3 and 4 January are moved to 9 January and 31 December.
- 23 February (Monday), 9 March — in place of 8 March, which falls on a Sunday.
- 1–3 May, 9–11 May (11 May in place of 9 May, which falls on a Saturday).
- 12–14 June, 4 November, 31 December.
For other years the calculator takes into account the holidays in Art. 112 of the Russian Labour Code and their transfer from weekends, but it does not know the additional transfers the Government approves each year. For those years the result is approximate.
Deadlines in working days
Many legal deadlines are counted in working days: payment under contracts with state customers, replies to claims under some contracts, deadlines in tax demands. The “Date in N days” mode with the “Working days” setting skips weekends and holidays and shows the date the deadline expires.
