Official work calendar (production calendar): what it is

A calendar of working days, weekends, public holidays and shortened pre-holiday days for the year. It is used to calculate standard working hours, shift pay, leave and deadlines in working days.

In Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus

Russia

Public holidays are listed in Art. 112 of the Labour Code, and the Government approves weekend transfers each year. In 2026 there are 247 working days for a five-day week.

Kazakhstan

Public holidays are set by the law on holidays, and the Government of Kazakhstan approves weekend transfers; the work calendar is published on that basis.

Belarus

Public holidays and transfers of working days are set by a Presidential decree and resolutions of the Council of Ministers; the working time calendar is drawn up from them.

Standard working hoursHow many hours an employee must work in a week, month or year. Usually 40 hours a week; the annual norm is calculated from the production calendar.Overtime workWork at the employer’s request beyond your normal working day or shift.
