Single tax account (ENS): what it is

A shared «wallet» of a person or company at the tax office: all money arrives as one payment, and the tax service (ФНС) itself distributes it among taxes. A plus on the account is an overpayment, a minus is a debt.

Key rules

Russia

The single tax account (ЕНС) has operated since 2023 (Art. 11.3 of the Tax Code). Money is written off in order: first arrears, then current taxes, then penalties and fines. The balance is visible in your personal account, and an overpayment can be returned to your card on request.
