A loan payment that was not made on time, in full or in part. For a late payment the bank charges a penalty and reports it to credit bureaus, and after a long delay it can demand the whole debt back.
Under Law No. 353-FZ, the penalty (неустойка) on a consumer loan is no more than 20% per year if interest continues to accrue, or 0.1% per day if it does not. If the total delay exceeds 60 days within the last 180 days, the bank can demand early repayment of the whole loan.
Kazakhstan
In Kazakhstan, the penalty on loans to individuals is also capped by law, and after a long delay the bank can pass the debt to collectors or go to court.
Belarus
In Belarus, for a late payment the bank charges increased interest or a penalty under the contract; information about the delay goes to the Credit Register of the National Bank.
