In Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus
Russia
From 8 December 2025 the Bank of Russia abolished the monthly limits on foreign-currency transfers abroad for Russian citizens and residents of friendly countries ($1 million to an account and $10,000 through transfer systems). Restrictions remain for non-residents from unfriendly countries. Fees and available countries depend on the bank; residents, as a rule, must notify the tax office of their foreign accounts.
Kazakhstan
In Kazakhstan, transfers abroad go through banks and transfer systems; for large sums the bank may ask for documents under the National Bank's currency control rules.
Belarus
In Belarus, individuals make transfers abroad through banks and transfer systems; the bank may ask about the purpose of the transfer and the source of the money.
