Social Fund of Russia: what it is

The state fund that grants and pays pensions, sick pay, maternity pay, child benefits and maternity capital. Created in 2023 by merging the Pension Fund and the Social Insurance Fund (ФСС).

In Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus

Russia

Operating since 1 January 2023 (Federal Law No. 236-FZ). You can contact it at a client service office, via an MFC, on Gosuslugi or at sfr.gov.ru; the single contact centre number is 8-800-100-00-01.

Kazakhstan

Similar functions are split: social payments from the State Social Insurance Fund (ГФСС, GFSS) are granted by the State Corporation “Government for Citizens”, and pension savings are held by the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund (ЕНПФ, ENPF).

Belarus

The equivalent is the Social Protection Fund (ФСЗН, FSZN): it collects contributions and grants pensions and social insurance benefits.
