Pre-retiree: what it is

A person who has 5 years or less to go before the retirement age. Pre-retirees get benefits: protection from dismissal on grounds of age, days off for a medical check-up, tax benefits.

Russia

Rights: 2 paid days a year for a medical check-up (Art. 185.1 of the Labour Code), criminal liability for dismissal because of age (Art. 144.1 of the Criminal Code), a longer unemployment benefit, free training. Property and land tax benefits are given to men from 60 and women from 55. A certificate of status can be obtained on Gosuslugi.
