Everything you pay for on the bill for your flat or house: building maintenance, major repairs and utilities — water, electricity, gas, heating and waste collection.
In Russian:ЖКУ (жилищно-коммунальные услуги)·ZhKU (zhilishchno-kommunalnye uslugi)
What the payment consists of is set by Art. 154 of the Housing Code of the Russian Federation (Жилищный кодекс РФ). You must pay by the 10th of the following month unless your contract sets a different deadline; from the 31st day of delay, late-payment penalties are charged. You can check your bill in the utilities calculator.
Kazakhstan
In Kazakhstan, you pay separately for utilities to the suppliers (water, heat, electricity, gas, waste collection) and contributions for the upkeep of the building's common property — to the OSI (owners' association, ОСИ) or the building manager.
Belarus
In Belarus, housing and utility services are divided into basic ones (maintenance, major repairs, water, heat, electricity, gas, waste removal, etc.) and additional ones. Payment is usually due by the 25th of the month following the billing month.
